Michelle Pfeiffer has strict rules when it comes to family time - she has vowed to turn down film roles if they require her to part with her loved ones for longer than a fortnight. The Dangerous Minds star hates spending too much time away from her husband, Ally McBeal creator David E. Kelley and their two children - 14-year-old Claudia and 12-year-old Jack - and has decided to cut back on her acting work to fit in with her family's schedule.

She says, "When I look at doing something and have to be away, if it's at a time when they can't come with me, like during the school year, then I need to be able to come back and forth. I need not be away from my kids more than a week or two - that's my absolute limit."
