British clothing store New Look has denied reports Beth Ditto is in negotiations to design her own outfits for the chain, despite the heavyweight rocker's claims to the contrary.

The Gossip singer recently revealed she is following in the footsteps of Lily Allen by lining up her own fashion range with New Look.

She said, "I'm in talks to do something with New Look at the moment. I love their stuff."

However, a spokesperson for the store says, "It's definitely not happening. It's a misunderstanding.

"We did send Beth some clothes samples as gifts, as we do many celebs, but we have had no contact with her at all. I think she may have received the clothes and misunderstood."
