Country star Jo Dee Messina is making plans to adopt her first child less than a month after getting engaged. The I'm Alright singer will wed new fiancé Chris Deffenbaugh this autumn and she could be a mom almost as soon as she becomes a wife - if her adoption dreams are realized.

A source tells the National Enquirer, "Jo Dee and Chris love children and really love to have at least two, but her career is red-hot and she worries that being pregnant might only slow down her momentum. There's been a lot of talk about adopting children."
