Erin MurphyTV witch Erin Murphy has revealed she's battling ovarian cancer but hopes to be given the all-clear after catching the disease early. The retired actress, who played Samantha Stephens' witch-in-training daughter Tabitha on beloved sitcom Bewitched, admits TV saved her life - a documentary she saw about ovarian cancer prompted her to get a check-up.

Now 43, the former star underwent an operation on July 3 and is awaiting biopsy results to see if chemotherapy treatment will be necessary.

Optimistic Murphy says, "Surgery went great. My scar is low enough that I can still wear a bikini and host fitness shows. Luckily, I was in really good shape before the surgery, so recovery should be a breeze. I'm taking it easy now but should be recovered in four to six weeks."
