"I think this will do for global warming what Live 8 did for ending world hunger." Comic Chris Rock is unconvinced Live Earth will be a success.

"I was late today because when I was leaving the hotel, I went around and switched off every power point because there was no master switch. I had to search behind desks and couches for every switch." Rocker Andrew Stockdale, whose band Wolfmother played the Sydney, Australia leg of Live Earth on Saturday, is environmentally conscious.

"I don't have any delusions of grandeur that Linkin Park is saving the world. But it's our goal to do what we can to make it possible for our kids to have a place to live, and, at the same time, hopefully clean up where we live in the process."
