Katie Holmes and Demi Moore are vying for roles in Chicago director Rob Marshall's new movie musical, according to the New York Post. The two leading ladies both took part in auditions for Marshall's "Nine" production last week.

Marshall is also said to be keen on reteaming with his Chicago stars Renee Zellweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones for the project, which recently scored rave reviews on Broadway with Antonio Banderas in the lead role. "Nine" is based on movie icon Federico Fellini's 8 1/2.
