TVGuide.com reports exclusively that even though Dana Delany turned down the role of Bree on Desperate Housewives three times before the primetime soap became a hit, she may finally make an appearance on the show.

Sources tell TVGuide that Delaney is in advance talks to become a new series regular as Bree's (Marica Cross) long-lost sister. According to the casting breakdown, Katherine is an "attractive 38-45-year-old conservative Republican with an all-American wholesomeness and a mastery of passive aggressiveness."

Unlike new mom-to-be Bree, however, Katherine is a former neighbor who is coming home after an absence of more than a decade with a younger man for a husband (described as "the best-looking gynecologist in town") and a 17-year-old daughter who sounds like she could assume Andrew's mantel as the show's biggest JV troublemaker.
