Veteran British rocker Paul Weller has teamed up with ex-Blur guitarist Graham Coxon to record a new limited edition single. The pair have taped This Old Town with Oasis and The Who drummer Zak Starkey - the son of former Hurricane Ringo Starr - for the Regal Singles Club, which releases one-off singles by cult acts or collaborations.
Coxon says, "As a long time admirer of Paul, I never dared imagine getting a chance to work with him so I was bricking it when we first met. But he is an absolute gent and a shockingly great singer and musician. It's been a total pleasure."
Weller adds, "I've always been a big fan of Graham's and love his work so it was exciting for me to work on something new with him."
This Old Town is released to download online and as a seven-inch record, limited to 5,000 copies, on July 2.
