Kraak & SmaakMark Kneppers, Oscar De Jong and Wim Plug, aka, Kraak & Smaak released their debut CD, Boogie Angst, in 2006 on Quango Music Group, to critical acclaim and, more importantly to fan's delight. The Dutch trio released a collection of rarities and remixes on May 8 entitled The Remix Sessions. Fans everywhere will rejoice as hard-to-find tracks, many of which were only released on vinyl, are assembled in this boogie-licious showcase of remixes from such renowned artists as Jamiroquai, Bitter:Sweet, Dorfmeister vs MDLA, Mark Rae and Skeewiff.

Twenty-eight-year-old Oscar De Jong, the main knob twiddler in Kraak & Smaak, formed the group in 2003 after a series of chance meetings with the other two. From his exposure to endless types of music as a student at the Music Conservatory in Rotterdam, De Jong now cites his influences as jazz, hip-hop, funk, breakbeat and "all experimental music." Prior to joining Kraak & Smaak , DJ Wim Plug and Mark Knepper (a.k.a. DJ Knuppelhout) knew each other from spinning out at many of the same venues in Holland. Plug had traversed all over the country on the decks next to Portishead's Andy Smith and drum 'n' bass stalwart DJ Aphrodite, among others. He was also a member of the multi-media turntable orchestra, Polyvinyl Big Band. As DJ Knuppelhout, Mark had released a mix CD (breaks) for legendary Dutch label Fresh Fruit and was a member of the popular '70s-'80s retro-act, Wipneus & Pim. In DJ sets, Mark tends to play lots of funky breakbeat and "music for the ladies..." He also owns one of the biggest independent record shops in Leiden. "I suppose Plug and I were drawn to each other because of our total obsession with music." Now the two boast that collectively they own the largest vinyl collection in Holland.

Eclectic tastes and voracious musical appetites are something that all three members of Kraak & Smaak relate to and have used to help create the musical synergy and energy-charged live shows that have been winning European audiences over. Most notably, Kraak & Smaak kicked out a blazing set at the Good Vibrations festival in Australia, billed in between Snoop Dogg and The Beastie Boys.

Kraak & SmaakHeralded as "one of the 20 dance acts you must see live" by International DJ Magazine (right along side dance music giants, The Chemical Brothers), Kraak & Smaak "play a tight, dancefloor-friendly blend of house, breaks, funk and soul. They're guaranteed to get any party started." In March, 2007, Kraak & Smaak brought their incendiary dance party to SXSW in Austin, WMC in Miami and played sold-out shows to eager fans in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

The Remix Sessions showcases the varied musical talents of Kraak & Smaak as they take their crackling energy and infuse classic jams with their signature style. From banging dance floor " Mimezine – Can't get Enough," to funky, midtempo "Jamiroquai – Electric Mistress" to eerie, "Skeewiff – Man of Constant Sorrow," Kraak & Smaak reveal their astounding vision for the possibilities of electronica.
