Rocker Slash was close to tears as he presented Alice Cooper with a Hero honor at the Mojo Awards in London last night because the School's Out rocker has become a great friend. The Velvet Revolver guitarist admits the ceremony at The Brewery was "emotional" for him, because he never thought he'd ever get the chance to hand over a prize to his own personal hero.
Slash says, "I've known him for so long and he's always been a really good friend to me and a huge influence on me, so there was a moment where I was just really proud to be on stage presenting it.
"I've played a lot of stuff with Alice, I've done some recordings with him and a bunch of shows. Guns N' Roses (former band) opened for Alice, so I think he knew me when I was, like, 19."
