Actress Robin Givens found herself sticking up for troubled singer Britney Spears recently, because she can remember her own trials as a young celebrity. Givens was just 23 when she married boxer Mike Tyson in 1988 - when the couple split up a year later amid accusations he physically abused her, Givens was portrayed as a gold-digger in the press.

Nearly 20 years later Givens understands the pressures that result in stars like Spears checking into rehab. She says, "I was a baby then. And there was so much criticism of me. I was in a gift shop and people were talking about Britney Spears shaving her head, and I said, 'You don't know her!' It's so hard to be in front of the world and grow up."
