Eddie MurphyEddie Murphy has vowed to stand by his ex-lover Melanie Brown if paternity tests reveal he is the father of her two-month old daughter. The actor has been ordered by a court to provide a DNA sample, and attended a Beverly Hills, California, clinic yesterday where doctors carried out a DNA test on the Dreamgirls star.

Brown and tot Angel Iris attended the same surgery earlier in the day, where the child underwent a blood test.

And despite continually denying the child is his, Murphy has promised to "do the right thing" if he is named as the father of the child - a claim Brown has always maintained.

Former Spice Girl Brown was "devastated" when Murphy publicly ended their romance on a Dutch TV show last year, saying, "I don't know whose child that is until it comes out and has a test."
