Prince Paul Pairs Up With Worrell For Funk/Soul Project
Rap producer Prince Paul has teamed up with funk musician Bernie Worrell to form new group Baby Elephant. Prince Paul - best known for his contributions to De La Soul's 1989 debut album 3 Feet High and Rising - met Worrell while the latter was promoting his documentary Stranger: Bernie Worrell on Earth. The unlikely duo found they shared similar interests and decided to create the funk/soul group, Baby Elephant.
Prince Paul says, "He's an accomplished musician and I'm some b-boy cat. I don't want people to think it's like some hip-hop beats over him playing. We're trying to invent something."
Baby Elephant will release their debut LP, Turn My Teeth Up in September.
