Hip-hop star Kanye West is releasing his third album Graduation early, to avoid a sales war with rival rapper 50 Cent. 50 Cent has delayed the release of his disc Curtis from June 26 to September 4, claiming the quality would be affected if it was released in the summer.

The new date coincided with West's album, and MTV reports Graduation will now hit stories in late August - several weeks before its original release date.
