Peter O'ToolePeter O'Toole is confident a new film written by an English medic is the key to his first Oscar. The veteran actor, who has been nominated eight times in the Best Actor category but has only won an honorary Oscar, believes Love And Vision is his ticket to Academy Award success.

A screenplay for the period epic was penned by Dr. Mia Sperger, a consultant radiologist from Liverpool - with John Malkovich and Daryl Hannah also set to star in the movie.

Sperger says after O'Toole agreed to the part, he told her, "This is my Oscar."

Director Raul Ruiz will direct the $27 million epic set during the reign of English monarch Charles the Great between 768-814. He says, "There were so many possibilities. If I were to single out what most stands out about Love And Virtue, it would be its extraordinarily poetic and visionary character."
