Gerard Butler will take on fellow Scot Sean Connery's role in the prequel to The Untouchables, but he won't be starring alongside Nicolas Cage. Cage was slated to play gangster Al Capone in Brian De Palma's film, but has pulled out due to scheduling conflicts.

The 1987 original starred Connery, Kevin Costner and Andy Garcia, with Robert De Niro as Capone.
