Rocker Marilyn Manson blames the breakdown of his marriage to Dita Von Teese on the burlesque dancer's insistence on trying to change him, leaving him with "no soul". The Rock Is Dead singer, who is now dating 19-year-old Rachel Evan Wood, who he describes as "nothing less than a muse", and Von Teese split in December.

Manson claims he had to end the marriage because it was destroying him. He tells Spin magazine, "She (Von Teese) said that she tolerated the lifestyle because she hoped I would change and threatened to leave if I didn't."

"I was sleeping on the couch in my own home. I was no longer supposed to be a rock star. I was someone who had to be apologized for. I wasn't prepared to be alone. I came out of this naked, a featherless bird... I was completely destroyed. I had no soul left."
