Sarah Jessica Parker is being constantly tested by her curious four-year-old son - because he has started to quiz her about homosexuality. Little James Wilke Broderick is attempting to get to grips with what it means to be gay - like some of Parker and husband Matthew Broderick's friends - and mum has to be very careful when she attempts to explain.

The former Sex & The City star explains, "He's very interested in what being gay is... because so many of our friends are gay. You (have to) think very carefully and you're prudent about the choice of words and you talk about people looking for happiness and fulfillment in your life and how all families are different and look different."

"You're forced to really consider your answers. You're forced to think a lot about what you're saying and how you're saying it - even the tone." But Parker feels little James Wilke has some way to go before he grasps the concept: "He's like, 'I think I feel Buzz Lightyear!'"
