Phil StaceyRejected American Idol star Phil Stacey has been given the all-clear to extend his leave from the U.S. Navy, and tour with his fellow TV contestants this summer. The Petty Officer Third Class feared he'd have to give up the chance to tour America with his fellow top 10 Idols - due to his military ties.

But, Navy chiefs have given Stacey, a married father-of-two, a leave of absence to follow his dream.

U.S. Navy spokesman Bob Anderson tells People magazine, "It is absolutely true. They're working on the logistics right now: what he'll be paid, wear, stuff like that. The Navy is proud of him. He's done very well. We want the best for him."

The American Idols Live! tour begins in Florida on July 6. Meanwhile, the new American Idol winner will be crowned next week when Blake Lewis and Jordin Sparks face off in the show finale.
