Cult rockers Ride have denied reports they are reforming for the first time in 11 years to play Canadian festival NXNE. Ride split in 1996 after eight years together and the band's management insists the British group's former members are too busy to reunite.

Spokesperson Dave Newton says, "This point in time would be the least likely for this kind of thing to happen - they're all very busy at the moment with individual commitments and very full schedules."

Ride star Andy Bell now plays bass with Oasis, singer Mark Gardener has a solo career, and Loz Collbert is drumming with The Jesus And Mary Chain.
