Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine would love to tone down the drumming in the band's music, but accepts he isn't in control of the group. While some bands' lead singers may be in charge, Levine insists life in Maroon 5 in an equal partnership and his wishes are not always fulfilled.

He says, "If I had things my way, we'd have a smaller drum kit and (guitarist) James (Valentine) would have only one effects pedal. But it's not a solo project. It's a band. There are tensions and differences, just as with any band."
