Actress Daryl Hannah
is encouraging donors to help raise the $1.5 million needed to spare a scenic Colorado resort from developers. Meadows
at the entrance to the town of Telluride in the Rocky Mountains have been threatened by developers for decades.
Campaigners have spent the last three months frantically trying to raise $50 million to buy the 'valley floor' parcel. They have until tomorrow, but are currently $1.5 million short.
The fund raising deadline of Wednesday was set in February because the town government has until Friday to issue municipal bonds to pay its half of the cost, reports newspaper USA Today.
