Scottish actor Robert Carlyle will quit making movies within five years so he can spend more time with his children. The Trainspotting star and father-of-three struggles being away from his wife Anastasia and their kids while shooting movies and plans to quit the industry by 2012.

He says, "I hate it. I am getting worse at it. It is difficult but you have to go where the work is. I'd like to be in a situation where I can say, 'f**k this'.

"I am in a lucky position where I can do that, so why don't I? It is work ethic, isn't it? You feel you have to keep going in some way."
