Joss Stone, John Legend and Harry Connick Jr. have given a supportive hand to the rejuvenation of grief-stricken New Orleans, Louisiana, following 2005's Hurricane Katrina. The musicians - who were in the American city to perform at its Jazz Festival - have taken time off from performing to aid in the area's rebuilding.

Legend and Connick Jr. kicked off the proceedings on Sunday by washing clothes at a laundromat and painting a house respectively.

Stone will promote voluntary work later today. Dreamgirls star Danny Glover and Democrat politician John Edwards also helped out in the Southern city.
