Deborah GibsonEighties teen-pop sensation Deborah Gibson's hits have been turned into the soundtrack of a new stage musical. The Shake Your Love singer has joined the likes of Billy Joel, ABBA and Frankie Valli in having a stage spectacular written around her songs.

Electric Youth, which is also the title of Gibson's smash-hit 1989 album, premiered in Orlando, Florida after musical whiz-kid Dean Parker approached the singer with the idea of using her hits as the backdrop to a show.

She explains, "He strung my songs together with a story and created a musical. It's not the story of my life, it's just a totally random (story). It's kinda like Footloose, Mamma Mia! - that kind of thing. It's fun, it's kitschy but it's clever, it's well thought out. It's really great."

Gibson has yet to see the finished version of the show and will get her chance to see it with fans at the Starlight Theater in Orlando tonight. She's particularly looking forward to hearing her Lost In Your Eyes hit performed as a duet. She adds, "I've never heard a male sing Lost In Your Eyes."
