Desperate Housewives Star Dougray Scott is following Tom Cruise's infamous Oprah Winfrey example by gushing about his new fiancée to the world. Cruise was largely ridiculed for the couch-jumping stunt in front of the talk show queen, where he flamboyantly proclaimed his love for then-fiancée Katie Holmes.

But newly engaged Scott isn't bothered about public image, because his bride-to-be Claire Forlani has him completely smitten.

The 41-year-old says, "Claire is a wonderful person, very lovely and really pretty normal for an actress. What I mean is that she is amazing and I'm glad I found her. She is definitely my type.

"When I was married I was very guarded, but now I realize I have to give up certain things. That's why I'm telling you (about) my lovely fiancée."

Scott has two children with his ex-wife, British actress Sarah Trevis, who he divorced in 2005 after five years of marriage.
