Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine is disgusted by media declarations he is the 'male Paris Hilton.' Since the band's ascent to fame in 2003, Levine has been linked with a string of famous females, including Jessica Simpson, Maria Sharapova, Jessica Biel, Kirsten Dunst and even Hilton herself.

Levine insists he isn't the lady-killing party animal the tabloids claim he is and is horrified at comparisons to socialite Hilton.

He says, "I'm not Paris Hilton. I'm not somebody that yearns for the public's attention so much that I perpetuate it. There are stars that base their whole existence on going to parties.

"It used to be that you were famous for a reason - for being an actor, a musician, a philanthropist, or a president.

"Now somebody can be famous for being a slut. It's just so boring. At the end of the day you don't want to be known for something stupid that you could end up regretting for the rest of your life. So there will be no sex tapes. There will be no reality television."
