Arnold SchwarzeneggerCalifornia governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has dismissed reports business mogul Donald Trump donated $10,000 towards his campaign debt as a thank you for appearing on his TV show. Schwarzenegger hosted five contestants of Trump's reality show The Apprentice: Los Angeles in his private conference room at the state Capitol. The episode aired on TV on March 18.

Just weeks later on April 20, Trump made his donation to the Schwarzenegger camp. The Governor's spokeswoman Julie Soderlund insists there is no connection between Schwarzenegger's appearance on The Apprentice and Trump's donation.

However, watchdog the Foundation For Taxpayer And Consumer Rights' Jamie Court says, "He's clearly using his personal friendships and his celebrity to pay off his campaign debt, and that's just wrong."
