Hollywood hardman Ray Liotta plays the tough guy on the big screen - but in real-life the actor is scared of elevators. The Goodfellas star's phobia began seven years ago when he got stuck in an elevator with Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro.

He explains, "I started to ventilate." Liotta, who has avoided elevators ever since the incident, confesses he couldn't be more different from this movie characters. He adds, "The people I grew up with find it amusing that I play tough guys."
