Will & Viveca FerrellThe comedian-actor Will Ferrell and his Swedish wife, Viveca Paulin-Ferrell, are deeply involved in the Swedish School of Los Angeles and in recognition and appreciation of their efforts, they have been bestowed "The 2007 Viking Prize."

Created to honor significant contributors to the Swedish School of Los Angeles, the Ferrells will be present to accept the award from Margareta Saperston, headmaster of the school, at a ceremony on May 19.

The Swedish School of Los Angeles was founded in 1977 with the objective of providing children of Swedish heritage with a learning environment to develop their language and traditions. The school is managed by volunteers and financed through donations -- except for a small government grant. The yearly fund raising effort, essential for the survival of the school, coincides with the Viking Award Ceremony.
