Friends of Penelope Cruz and Ben Kingsley have acted quickly to play down romance reports after the two European stars were spotted holding hands between takes on their new movie. The odd couple raised eyebrows when they appeared to be more than just friends and co-stars on the set of new film Elegy in Canada.

Cruz is reportedly dating movie hunk Josh Hartnett and Oscar winner Kingsley is engaged to actress Daniela Lavender. But a set insider says, "They really are just good friends. There's no romance."
