Edie FalcoEdie Falco refused to believe hit TV drama The Sopranos was coming to an end - until the long-running show's sets were dismantled. Television bosses had previously told Falco, who has played Carmela Soprano in the mob drama for the last nine years, that the program would be ending, only for another season to be confirmed.

However, Falco now admits she has accepted The Sopranos is coming to an end when the second half of the sixth season, currently airing on cable TV, finishes.

She says, "We've had a couple of false starts along the way, so I had thought in the past it was the last season and then we'd get that phone call. But now, since they're breaking down the sets, I think they really mean it. So I'm only realizing recently it's (at an end)."
