BarbarellaBarbarella, the film that turned Jane Fonda into an international sex symbol in the late 1960s and gave Duran Duran their name, is set for a remake. Producers Dino and Martha De Laurentiis have reached a rights deal with the son of Barbarella creator Jean-Claude Forest, and have commissioned Casino Royale scriptwriters Neal Purvis and Robert Wade to recreate the 1968 Roger Vadim movie.

In that film, adapted from Forest's cult French comic book series, Fonda played sexy Barbarella opposite Milo O'Shea, who played villain Duran Duran.
