Avril LavigneAvril Lavigne was deeply hurt when her one-time songwriting partner Lauren Christie attacked her studio skills in a bizarre attack. Christie, part of The Matrix songwriting team, helped craft hits like Sk8Ter Boi and I'M With You for Lavigne, but left the Canadian pop punk devastated when she suggested the singer had little to do but "change a word here or there" in a Rolling Stone article.

Lavigne says, "I wanted to cry. When you create something, and someone takes that away from you, it's like (they're taking away) your baby. Lauren and I would sing melodies and write lyrics together in the backyard on the blanket under an orange tree, and we had a great time. It was like a family.

"They (Matrix) said some things and burned a bridge. I'm the biggest thing that ever happened to them, so they basically f**ked themselves over."
