A superfan of former Kiss star Gene Simmons has won a date with the rocker and his partner Shannon Tweed after bidding $75,000 at an online charity auction. The unnamed fan outbid rivals on auction site eBay for the chance to dine with the stars of reality TV show Gene Simmons' Family Jewels.

In a posting on his website, Simmons writes: "I'm proud to report the eBay auction for a dinner with Miss Shannon Tweed and myself has officially closed. No more bids are being accepted.

"The winning bid: $75,000 dollars!!! All the money is to benefit Elizabeth Glazer Pediatric Aids. Thank you one and all for participating. It's an important cause."
