Rapper Johnny Ca$h was murdered in his apartment on Thursday, in Vallejo, California. The hip-hop star, born Johnny Castaneda, died from a gunshot wound to the head, after being shot multiple times by an unknown assailant, according to AllHipHop.com.

Castaneda, who was signed to Mac Dre's Thizz Entertainment, joined the label three years ago after Dre was gunned down on a highway in Kansas City, Missouri in November 2004. Authorities have yet to release details of their investigation, but Castaneda's death is the latest in a string of violent incidents connected to Mac Dre's name since his murder.
