More Than A Quarter Million Attend Newsong's Winter Jam Tour Spectacular

Winter JamWinter Jam Tour Spectacular 2007 wrapped up its 33-city run, with 268,473 in attendance, nearly 23,000 more than 2006's hugely successful tour, announced Troy VanLiere, partner in VanLiere-Wilcox, tour producer and manager for Integrity Music's NewSong, which hosted Winter Jam for the 11th straight year.

"Winter Jam certainly exceeded our expectations not only in attendance, but more importantly in the kingdom decisions that were made," said VanLiere. "In its 11th year, the reputation and branding of Winter Jam remains strongly established as an entertaining and inspiring event with top artists, great value and most importantly providing an opportunity for people to make life transforming decisions. People continue to show up for an event like this."

Winter Jam 2007 Tour Spectacular (Jamtour.com), once again promoted by Premier Productions, was hosted by NewSong and featured headliners Steven Curtis Chapman and Jeremy Camp, with special guests Hawk Nelson, Sanctus Real, new artist Britt Nicole, Speaker Tony Nolan, Presidential impersonator and comedian John Morgan and the breathtaking, fire breathing Andre the Hollywood Cowboy.

"Promoting Winter Jam is always a joy, and this year was no exception. Winter Jam had it all – the best musicians, best speakers and most exciting show, but most importantly, it had heart and there will always be a big audience for a show with heart. The reception in the marketplace to this tour just keeps getting bigger and bigger. I am already looking forward to next year," said Roy Morgan, partner in The Premier Group.

"I'm so grateful to God for the amazing spirit of humility in the community of artists that were a part of each night. It was profound to see each of the artists put aside our own agendas and consciously come together focused strictly on the one goal of presenting the gospel," said Chapman.

Camp added: "This tour was amazing to see almost 40,000 people make a personal decision for Christ! Praise God! We're so blessed to be a part of something that has an impact for the kingdom like that."

For all those involved in Winter Jam, the ministry aspect of the tour is as important as the great music and entertaining show. At the conclusion of this tour, it had seen more than 38,000 concert-goers make personal decisions for Christ and 4,717 made commitments to sponsor children in Holt International (www.holtintl.org) Children's Services "Waiting Child Program," a monthly sponsorship program that brings sustaining hope and support to orphaned, abandoned or vulnerable children awaiting full-time adoptions. Along with Holt International, Winter Jam Tour sponsors include Gospel Music Channel, Walden Media's release "Amazing Grace", HearItFirst.com, CCM Magazine, Tennessee Temple University, ZAP! Cars, Wayne E. Bailey Produce and Midnight in the City (a program of Convey of Hope.)

Eddie Carswell of NewSong concludes, "I truly believe that as long as we keep God as the ultimate headliner of the tour that He will continue to bless Winter Jam for many years to come. I know the most important memories for all of us on the tour will be the lives that committed to Christ and the kids who were supported by the fans."

In April, NewSong will be at the 2007 GMA Dove Awards, where they are nominated for a Dove Award for their critically acclaimed Christmas CD, A Christmas Hope. They will be entering the studio this Spring to work on a new album slated for a Fall 2007 release.
