Disgraced British rocker Gary Glitter is keeping shape by cutting down trees for lumber as part of his punishment in a Vietnam jail. Glitter - born Paul Francis Gadd - was convicted of committing obscene acts with children in March 2006. And as part of his hard labor rehabilitation, Glitter is heading into the jungle armed with a chainsaw to cut down trees.

His lawyer Le Thanh Kinh says, "Mr Glitter is losing a lot of weight and getting very fit."

The 62-year-old was jailed until November 2008. But a ruling last month will reportedly see the star released three months early in August 2008.
