Australian supermodel Elle MacPherson has shocked BBC producers working on TV show "The Money Program" - by putting up her own money to fund a documentary for the show in Dubai.

The model-turned-entrepreneur surprised BBC bosses by offering to shoot and fund her own scenes for an upcoming documentary on The Money Program while working in Dubai.

A BBC source says, "We wanted to chart how Elle is moving from modeling into business. We simply ran out of money and didn't have anything budgeted for Dubai.

"Elle is astute with money and was quite happy to take one of our cameras and do the filming herself. We are using her footage and it is very good. She obviously learned a lot from her time in front of the cameras."
