Motley Crue star Nikki Sixx has slammed reports Christopher Walken will play Ozzy Osbourne in the movie adaptation of the group's memoir The Dirt, claiming only unknown actors will appear in the film.

Sixx suggests the Pulp Fiction star must have been drinking when he started talking about the role.

The rocker tells MTV News, "I think he had a couple drinks and it got blown out of proportion. I believe, as everyone else believes, that it's going to be (cast with) unknowns."

Meanwhile, Sixx admits he's glad to hear those being offered roles in the film are feeling a deep emotional connection to the group's struggles. He adds, "It's a really important story... (It's) the story of survival. Everybody who reads the script feels an emotional connection to it."
