Scarlett Johansson made an early decision to be an independent woman after she was left devastated by her parents' divorce. The sexy actress admits her parents Karsten and Melanie's split when she was 13 helped make her the successful young woman she has become.

Johansson says, "I'm not a 'poor me' kind of person (but) certain cards were dealt to me, and I had to be strong. The actual separation wasn't hard, but things that come with divorce are difficult. But those things mold you to be the person that you are. I've always been very determined, ever since I was a little girl."
