Acting couple Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel were once approached to star in a pornographic movie together - but feared fans would brand it a cheap "stunt." The pair married in 1999 and were keen to extend their relationship to a screen partnership. However, despite being tempted by director Gaspar Noe's raunchy offer, Cassel concedes the film was inappropriate.

He says, "When we sat down and watched (porn) movies together and saw the sex scenes we thought it wasn't right. People would think it was a stunt. So at the last minute we pulled out of that and ended up doing Irreversible (watch the trailer) with Gaspar instead."

And the couple, who have also starred in L'Appartement and Sheitan (Satan) together, are keen to team up again in front of the camera in the near future.

Cassel says, "It's a way to see each other more. We have a project that we're going to do together, but we're waiting to do it. Maybe in around a year-and-a-half we're going to do another picture."
