Country music star Hank Williams Jr. has filed for divorce from his fourth wife of 16 years, Mary Jane Williams.

The pair met at a concert in 1985, and married in 1990.

The 57-year-old singer, who is the son of country legend Hank Williams, says, "All families experience difficulties. I hope everyone will respect our privacy during this time."
