Pamela AndersonPamela Anderson has hit out at British designer Julien Macdonald, turning down his invitation to attend London Fashion Week because of his use of animal fur. MacDonald wanted the actress to join him at his show wearing an outfit he had designed - but animal campaigner Anderson sent a rejection letter urging the designer to ditch his use of fur.

Anderson - a campaigner for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) - wrote back, "I truly appreciate (it). I'm hoping you can extend your kindness to include animals. If you stop using fur; I'd be thrilled to attend a show yours in the future."

PETA has also attacked Macdonald - following their flour attack on him and Paris Hilton at his last London Fashion Week show. Director Poorva Joshipura, says, "Julien MacDonald's latest fur-laden catwalk collection didn't surprise anyone. He is a dinosaur designer who lacks the compassion and the intellect to see that there is simply no beauty in cruelty."
