Leonardo DiCaprio To Star In Film Documenting Enron Scandal
The film will be based on the book Conspiracy Of Fools by New York Times reporter Kurt Eichenwald.
The Departed star will play a newcomer to the Houston, Texas-based energy corporation who slowly uncovers the corruption that drove Enron into bankruptcy in 2001.
The scandal was previously chronicled in the 2005 documentary Enron: The Smartest Guys In The Room.
The Longest Yard screenwriter Sheldon Turner, who is writing the script, says, "Kurt made the factual stuff read like a thriller, and it felt right to tell the story from the point of view of an outsider."
