Music legend Diana Ross was reportedly stunned when representatives from the Academy Awards asked her to sing one of the nominated songs from Dreamgirls at the Oscar ceremony.

The movie is heavily inspired by Ross and her rise to the top with The Supremes and she admits she hasn't even bothered to watch the film.

When asked her opinion on the movie last month she said, "I haven't seen it - maybe I should see it with my lawyer."

According to veteran Hollywood gossip columnist Janet Charlton, Ross hasn't yet responded to the request to sing at the ceremony on February 25.
