Brooke Shields has signed on for Sex And The City author Candace Bushnell's new TV series Lipstick Jungle.

The one-hour pilot for US network NBC, is based on Bushnell's best seller about three rich, power-hungry professional women in New York City.

Shield's will play Wendy, a movie studio president and harried wife and mother to three children.

The 41-year-old starred in the sitcom Suddenly Susan and most recently appeared as a mentally disturbed psychologist in the plastic surgery drama Nip/Tuck.
