Snow Patrol Dominates Irish Music Awards

Snow PatrolRockers Snow Patrol swept the boards at the Meteor Ireland Music Awards in Dublin last night, taking home four prizes.

The Northern Irish band won the Best Irish Band, Best Live Performance, Best Irish Album and Most Downloaded Irish Song awards.

Elsewhere there were wins for boyband Westlife, who were named Best Irish Pop Act, and Scissor Sisters in the Best International Pop Act category.

Arctic Monkeys won Best International Album and Justin Timberlake and Lily Allen were named Best International Male and Female.

The homegrown prizes were awarded to Best Irish Male Damien Dempsey and Best Irish Female Luan Perle.

Newcomers Director were named Best New Irish Act and Clannad were presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
