Newcomer Scout Taylor-Compton is set to revive Jamie Lee Curtis' scream queen Laurie Strode in Rob Zombie's new Halloween horror movie.

The rocker/director is remaking the original Halloween film and passed over favorites like Agnes Bruckner and Hayden Panettiere to pick Sleepover star Taylor-Compton, according to moviehole.net.

It's the second time the young actress has hit the headlines - she was reported missing two years ago, when she was 16.

Taylor-Compton was reported missing in August 2005 and spent two weeks living at a friend's house before police called off their missing person's search.

At the time, San Bernardino County Sheriff's spokeswoman Robin Haynal called the actress "a runaway juvenile" who "just didn't want to be found".
