Rod Stewart, Van Morrison, Steely Dan, ZZ Top And Norah Jones will headline this year's New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

The stars will be joined by Louisiana favourites, like Irma Thomas, Dr. John and Allen Toussaint, who make up 80 per cent of the performers at the festival which spans two weekends.

Stewart, Morrison and Jones will play over the weekend of April 27 to 29, while Steely Dan, ZZ Top and John Legend will take to the stage between May 4 and 6.

New Orleans native Harry Connick Jr will close the festival on May 6.
